Committees are now forming around the “Four Points” of the Main Street model:
Economic Vitality
Team Lead: Brian Minker
This committee identifies financial tools and incentives to assist local businesses, encourage property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to invest in new business development.
Projects may include:
- Building entrepreneurial economies.
- Strengthening business—includes strengthening existing businesses and recruiting new ones.
- Infrastructure reuse—finding new economic uses for traditional Main Street buildings.
- Development—financial incentives and capital for business development and retail operations
layout. - Ascertaining progress—monitoring the economic performance of the district.
Design
Team Lead: Tom Swan
This committee develops plans to enhance the unique characteristics of downtown and ensure that residents and visitors feel safe, welcomed, and delighted.
Projects may include:
- Collaborating on plans for renovating buildings and constructing compatible new buildings
- Improving signs and storefront merchandise displays
- Creating attractive and usable public spaces
- Ensuring that planning and zoning regulations support Main Street revitalization
Promotion
Team Leads: Roosevelt Smith
This committee develops and promotes events that draw people downtown and support local downtown businesses. We’d love for you to join us!
Projects may include:
- Marketing the district’s assets to residents, visitors, investors and others through special events
- Organizing retail promotions
- Enhancing the perceived value of the district by initiating activities that create opportunities for commerce and community
Organization
Team Lead: Open
This committee works to create a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, by cultivating community partnerships and volunteerism, fundraising, communications and public relations.
Projects may include:
- Raising money—for projects and administration, from donations, sponsorships, and grants
- Overseeing volunteer activities—by recruiting and supervising people and rewarding good work
- Promoting the program—to downtown interests and the public through public relations, branding, and digital marketing
- Managing finances—by developing good accounting procedures.

Meetings are currently held on the 2nd Thursday of the Month at 6:00 pm and are currently being conducted via GoToMeeting in the interest of public safety.
